I am very proud of what my colleagues have accomplished over the last few years in establishing the Graduate Programs in Sustainability at Wake Forest University. Throughout the years, we have stayed true to our mission of educating the next generation of leaders in sustainability and enhancing their opportunities to work where they can be most effective.
With its inception, the Sustainability Graduate Program has expanded Wake Forest’s commitment to sustainability by creating opportunities for faculty members to direct their teaching and scholarship toward sustainability-related topics. This multidisciplinary program seeks to strengthen collaboration within Wake Forest as well as the greater community of businesses, government agencies, and non-government organizations.

The future is bright for the next director, Stan Meiburg. He will be tasked with opening the program to more participants, developing alternative approaches to education, and increasing the visibility of the program throughout the world. Stan is the perfect person to take this program to the next level.
