Graduate Certificate in Sustainability

Full-Time, Part-Time, & Evening Course Options Available

( GRE OPTIONAL )

The GRADUATE CERTIFICATE in Sustainability provides students with exposure to sustainability issues in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, business management, law, and policy. The Graduate Certificate in Sustainability is offered as a stand-alone certificate or alongside another Wake Forest master’s degree program. Applications are currently being accepted.

Certificate Program Admission Requirements

Application materials should be submitted directly to the Wake Forest University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. GRE scores are not required for application to the certificate program.  A complete application will contain all of the following:

Students wishing to change from the Certificate Program to the Master’s Program will be expected to qualify for and apply to move into the full master track. Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate Program in Sustainability does not guarantee admission to the Master of Arts in Sustainability Program.

Scholarships

Teachers of North Carolina Scholarship

A competitive 100% scholarship is available to one teacher enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability program. Recipients are passionate about teaching, excited about making a difference with their time and talents, and interested in conservation, environmental sustainability, and life-long learning. The aim of this scholarship is to equip teachers with sustainability methods and concepts to share with their school and students, and ultimately spread awareness and education of sustainability and energy issues. Eligible applicants must be teachers currently employed within North Carolina.

NGO & NPO Scholarship

Two 50% scholarships are available to assist employees of North Carolina based non-government organizations (NGOs) and nonprofit organizations (NPOs)  in completing the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability. This scholarship aims to help employees who want to incorporate or enhance a focus on sustainable principles and practices within their organization. To qualify, applicants must be a paid employee of an eligible NGO or NPO.

Government Employee Scholarship

Two 50% scholarships are available for current government employees enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Program. Recipients are individuals who strive to inspire and build communities which value the environment and prioritize it in their everyday practices.
